We're really disappointed to hear that the bike lane network in Community District 14, including protected bike lanes on Cortelyou and Dorchester Roads, will not be installed this year as DOT originally presented. We're hearing they're targeting installation for next year.

For those of us who live on or near Court Street, this all is going to be a game changer. Thanks to @cmshahanahanif.bsky.social and everyone who has fought for better bike infrastructure in this neighborhood. Especially as school is back with zillions of parents and kids biking! Love to see it!

The night after the murder of Melissa Hortman, the Democratic legislator in Minnesota, the Yankees were at the Red Sox and neither team requested a moment of silence.

For an actual public servant.

Who we choose to hold a moment of silence for and who we do not are silences that speak volumes.

rarely have I more acutely felt the dynamic by which Dems are held responsible for the rhetoric of every random left-leaning person on the internet and Republicans are not even asked to answer for their own personal words

Congestion Pricing Reduced Traffic. Now It’s Hitting Revenue Goals. Revenue figures from the Manhattan tolling plan showed that the program is on track to raise billions for mass transit repairs.

⭐ $48M in transit funding
⭐ 1M fewer vehicles
⭐ 50% fewer traffic injuries
⭐ 1.5M more visitors to the congestion relief zone

By the numbers, #CongestionPricing is already a clear success for NYC β€” and we deserve to see those benefits continue.

It’s not just Texas.

Measles vax rates are down in NYC as well.

Most recent data: Just 81% of kids here got their first MMR dose by 24 months (down from 94% pre-pandemic)

NYC Health Dept is urging all parents to make sure their kids are vax’d

Ms. Robbins, who grew up in Manhattan but now lives in Queens, compared navigating the intersection where she works, at Canal and Lafayette Streets, to a game of Frogger β€” at least in the old days.

β€œIt would stress me out just getting lunch,” she said. Thursday was her first day there post-congestion pricing. β€œI couldn’t believe it,” she said. β€œI was able to cross safely, and cars weren’t honking. It was like a whole other world.”

β€œIt was much easier to cross the street,” said Mr. Dandia, a 32-year-old native of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. β€œDefinitely quieter. Definitely calmer.”

My reminder that protected bike lanes significantly improve safety for EVERYONE on the road--including seniors. A DOT study found protected bike lanes reduce senior pedestrian deaths and serious injuries by 39% and total senior pedestrian injuries by 22%. www.nyc.gov/html/dot/dow...
