Well, that is mostly their investments, not their personal consumption.

Redistributing their wealth amongst the rest of us would not reduce emissions, it would just redistribute the emissions amongst the rest of us.

What would work is shutting down their airlines, factories, and ranches.

If inflation is close to target, as Macklem says, cuts in the interest rate will only serve to raise inflation over target. As it is, rent and food inflation is way over target. The last thing we need is higher rent and food costs.

I understood that the union was asking for 4% or Cost of Living, whichever is greater. But I have seen no mention of "whichever is greater" in this deal.

What happens when there is another crisis and inflation shoots up higher than 3%?

Strasbourg - Today, The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has ruled that Norway must assess the global climate impacts of oil and gas before opening new oil fields on the Norwegian continental shelf in order to comply with the European Convention on Human Rights.
The ruling establishes new, binding legal obligations that will reshape how governments approach fossil fuel development.

I can think of at least seven ways fossil fuel producers could wiggle out of this, but still: holy shit this is huge.
