Zohran Mamdani: Why I am the best candidate for mayor
We live in the wealthiest city in the world and it’s become unlivable for the people who built it. Half of all New York households struggle to pay for their basic needs. One in four live in poverty…
“As much as I love this city, there’s a myth about it that has persisted for too long. It’s the lie that life has to be hard in New York. It has to be an ordeal. That only the rich or the lucky get to live a good life here.
I don’t believe that for a minute.”

#AllEyesOnMadleen

Stats on today’s 15-year anniversary of Dems marginalizing single payer in favor of passing the ACA:
“Health insurers raked in $371 billion in profits since the ACA’s passage…The average families’ premiums have risen to nearly $26,000 a year.” www.levernews.com/health-insur...

With words they try to jail us: US universities are not citadels of freedom
Today, the American university – just like the American nation-state – is once again at peak repression.
"The idea that the US university is a place of critical thinking, social justice, liberal arts, and making the world a better place is as false as the day is long."

🚨NEW: Since the passage of the Affordable Care Act, the health insurance industry saw profits explode to reach $371 BILLION.

Holy shit these quislings are just openly licking the boots of an authoritarian regime helmed by the world’s richest man.
Again, the Democratic Party, as presently constituted, is not going to put up a resistance. Reorient your political understanding, organize, and prepare.

Image of a letter from UAW President Shawn Fain to the Korean Metal Workers' Union:
"Dear Brothers and Sisters of the KMWU, On behalf of the one million active and retired members of the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America, I am writing to express our solidarity with you in your ongoing struggle in defense of democracy.
We support your call for President Yoon Suk Yeol’s immediate resignation. We were shocked and dismayed by President Yoon’s declaration of martial law. Given the absence of any wartime incident or comparable national emergency, this action was unconstitutional, illegal, and invalid. We are pleased to hear that the South Korean Parliament voted to overturn martial law, prompting President Yoon to lift it.
We stand in solidarity with your escalating actions, including walkouts, rallies, and mobilizations, culminating in an indefinite general strike starting December 11 if President Yoon Suk Yeol does not resign. Your unwavering commitment to democracy and workers' rights inspires us all.
We know that the defense of democracy in Korea will not be easy, just as it will not be easy in the United States in the coming four years. We stand in solidarity with you, and we look forward to receiving your support as unions defend democracy around the world."
In solidarity,
Shawn Fain
The UAW stands in solidarity with the brave members of the Korean Metal Workers' Union (KMWU). ✊
