Yeah, the “new things” are hard to break through. I’m working on an idea now that is just crazy and absurd and I’m hoping that helps.

Yeah, the “noise” is deafening. I have no idea how anyone can traction in today’s industry. Some do, tho. But nobody can explain why some do and some don’t. A tale old as time.

I have an idea for a comic series, but I already have other books I gotta finish. The curse of being a writer/artist is the strong desire to do it all yourself.

Well done! I need to get back to drawing for the sake of… drawing. Often I draw only to make books.

I hear you, friend. I’m on an old Mac OSX desktop and running an old version. If I update I’ll also lose CS6. I know my time is limited. It’s scary, but progress marches on. Just gonna hold on as long as possible.

I bought my disk of CS6 on sale for $300. It has paid for itself multiple times.

It’s good to see so many fellow creatives are getting by on the cheap side.

And yes, my desktop is also old… 2011.

Because my desktop is so old I also have to use an older browser version, which makes a mess when I try to send files or go to certain websites. My iPad is newer, so I have that as a go-around, but it’s a first gen iPad… so even that is lagging. I can’t even use the latest version of Clipstudio

I have yet to pay one thin dime to Creative Cloud. But I’m sure I will in the future as my desktop gets older and older and out of date.

I’m still using Photoshop CS6 (2012) on my desktop. The last physical media you can own of PS. I just used it to make a cover for my comic ARTillery, to be published by invader comics @invadercomics.bsky.social. #comics #art #photoshop

Yes, a back catalogue is key. I still get royalty checks for work I did well over a decade ago. Of course those are diminishing returns, so it redefines what *success* is for me, because life constantly changes.
