If being a leftist entails *not* noticing unfairness in the world, I'm concerned I've been doing this all wrong.

A highlight of my teen life was reading a scare article in the local paper about how gangs were infiltrating our rural town, providing as evidence police sightings of kids wearing BKs, Starter jackets, baggy pants, etc. And it was almost certainly describing harmless ol' me.

This is a child-of-hippies PTSD thing for me. Turning down a normie dessert, even (perhaps specifically) the kludgiest, most generic version, is nearly impossible. That said, some place once served me a 1/4 pan(?!) of cheesecake so bad I couldn't even pawn it off on the sober house.
