Fun game, zeal is maybe a little too powerful. But that theme... it is p̴͓̋͋͂ĕ̴̙̤̃͑r̴̡̜̎͆̈ͅf̶̩̀ͅé̵̳̜̀c̷̝̾͒t̵̳̼̚͝͝i̴͇̻͌o̸̬̠̊n̵̯̗͇͋͒.

It's gory and violent but I would say it's not that gory over all. It's a spice used to highlight the tension and paranoia and not the main dish. Its no worse than say 28 years/weeks later.

Watched MadS last night and can't stop thinking about it. The amount of adrenaline and energy in this movie is off the charts and it being a single continuous shot amps that up even more. Highly recommend to horror fans. Not for the squeamish.

I can't imagine this is all that shocking to people who have played live service games. The interface screamed Genshin Impact (or similar games), the weird itemization of finding dupes upgrading items you already had, the companion system. It all felt very multiplayer, cash shop focused.

In addition to frequently launching with 3 editions of the game: normal, digital deluxe, ultimate that are priced in at 60, 70, 90 or 70, 80, 100 they also aggressively re-release and remaster games to keep making that money. Raising the base price won't stop any of that.

Counter argument: video games sell more copies now than they did in the PS1 era, there are less physical manufacturing costs associated with them (digital sales), DLC adds to the cost but is never considered in the argument for game prices, and then the explosion of special editions isn't either.

Love, Death, and Robots season 4: mediocre overall but How Zeke Got Religion is great.

Fear Street: Prom Queen: a very enjoyable 5/10 horror movie. Very in line with the vibe of the original books for better or worse. And it has songs by Powerglove!

Visually I thought it was pretty tight. The pseudo RTS command other ships thing was a little weird but as a small, bite sized, space dogfighting game it's pretty awesome. Oh and it is just dripping with style. Hunt the Traitor Lords!

That game looks like an absolute mess-terpiece.

Recency bias is always going to plague top x lists, but so will nostalgia. It seems like it might get worse as a medium ages, and there are less and less touchstone, pivotal examples of the medium that are recent so it feels like something gets "lost" by them not being included.

Starflight was still on the list, at the time that was a positively ancient 12 years old. I'd say something like half the list is stone cold classics and the odd ones out are the simulation or sports games: Jane's Longbow 2, Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, NHL '90 and Triple Play 97 as examples.
