If you do get a storm alert do a walk through video of your house and outside just for documentation of your stuff and your prep.

Random add: Make sure you have all your documents in a plastic bag/water proof safe ready to go including insurance paperwork, mortgage, car registration, but also vaccine records, doodles school enrollment, your hopefully new dog vet records etc. Serial numbers on electronics are also helpful.
