I wotked in the sign industry for 25 years. Whenever I was designing a sign and didn't know what phone number was going on it, I always used 867-5309 as a placeholder to get the layout approved. In all that time, maybe four people caught it.

Still disappointed that Trump Burgers aren't made from real Trump. Not that that would make them any more appetizing...

Oh come on - ELO! ONJ! The Tubes! Gene Kelly! Great classic LA architecture! Don Bluth animation! Butchered Greek mythology! What's not to like?

Oh, right. Michael Beck.

First-gen Taurus SHO, when it was manual-only. Close second: basic 2.3/manual Ranger from the 80s/90s. Close third: SN95/New Edge Mustang GT... with a manual.

I'm not fond of Ford's automatics. Been burned too many times.

Dude, we don't want to incentivize you to do a goddamn thing. We want to tax you the fuck out of existence, and punish you for making it necessary to do so.

Oh, and by the way, $25/hr should be the GODDAMN MINIMUM WAGE, and that's WITH universal health care and strong social security. Fuck's sake.

I have to put in a good word for The Replacements as well.

Schaper Stomper 4x4 toy Chevy Blazer, circa 1980. No idea if it still works.

Age check, toy edition: spotted this in an antique shop today and had to have it. An original Schaper Stomper 4x4!

Those Pocher kits are amazing. I have the Ferrari Testarossa that's going to be my winter project one of these years.

I wonder if we could add a device to cars that would enable drivers to signal when they're about to turn? Some kind of flashing lights maybe? I get the feeling it would be super helpful.

See, this is why infrastructure spending is important. If the potholes get big enough, they can knock you right out of your car and make you bounce off the pavement, repeatedly, with absolutely no one around to see what happened.

They're great cars. I had a black '89 LX five speed that I loved. Only sold it because I got a good deal on a Miata and needed the room. Sold it to a guy from Florida who flew to Oregon to buy it and then drove it home.

To be fair, any car can be considered "self-driving" - briefly.

I'll never not recommend Michael Perry. Small-town writer from Wisconsin. Population 485 and Truck: A Love Story are both excellent reads. He has a gift for finding joy in everyday things.

Many years ago, I lost a box of stuff while moving. I don't remember everything that was in it, but I do know it contained my few remaining Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars from when I was a kid - and an original Bricklin SV-1 brochure.

Today I replaced the front wheel bearings in my wife's car. Then I baked oatmeal cookies from scratch.

To the incel types who complain that they "can't get a woman," have you considered learning how to do stuff so you bring something worthwhile to the table? Just a thought...
