Headlines translated: Britain's far-right media didn't like the budget. In an attempt to please them, the prime minister is going to punish the mentally ill.

Like the Tories, the Labour government is trying to drive down the number of people who qualify for disability benefits by insisting there has been an epidemic of β€œoverdiagnosis”: a favourite theme of the BBC and the junktanks of Tufton Street. Never mind the science: what outcome do we want?

British politics is basically a doom spiral of increasingly unhinged hostile policies.

Reform says something unhinged

Labour counters with their own unhinged policy
⬇️
Tories shout from back they'll be even more unhinged
⬇️
Reform announces different unhinged proposal in response

These people couldn’t have been more clear that they think not liking them is radicalisation; being angry with them for things they’ve done and said is extremism; asking them unwelcome questions is bullying and harassment, and raising your voice at them is criminal assault.
