I so agree. I get sick of the British thinking themselves different & therefore better. Another advantage would be that we could make all our museums and galleries free on production of a British ID card and charge tourists to enter. Perhaps the same for public transport?

I don't think they are correct though it might be advantageous to tweek the timing of the pedestrian lights and put in a box junction at Arbury Road.

I'm afraid there's lots of miserygutses around Arbury Road who are convinced that the whole scheme is flawed. They complain particularly about the perceived delays caused by the lights on the Elizabeth Way roundabout and the backing up of the traffic towards the Arbury Road junction.

Well it's a start. It's a totally inadequate bill and I expect that at the end of its first five years we will find that hardly anyone has been able to take advantage of it. So it will all have to be revisited in the future. This country is so slow on social change.
