This is a depressing read, esp the loss of 12000 jobs in #HigherEducation this year.
But it pretty much sums up what it feels like to work in HE in the UK right now.

It’s still amazing to me you can ask them to buy a new hardback for you which has just come out.The instant delivery isn’t there & you have to read quickly if it’s reserved by others. Going through Booker long list now. Saved me a fortune

Reform were campaigning in a local town square this morning & a woman stepped up to me to talk to me with leaflet in hand.
I have to say the reaction I had was 💯 visceral
I shuddered, shook my head, put my hands in pockets & said “Absolutely no way!” Can’t think of a worse way to spend my day off 😖

I think of the carers who came to look after my Dad when he was dying and what they might be going through as they try and care for others in their work 😔
A direct consequence of Faragism, the current trend of flag waving and a lack of government resolve to call this behaviour out for what it is.

Now both Reform & the Conservatives are clamouring to leave the ECHR, we should perhaps pause before this turns into Brexit 2.0. It’s vital that people understand what the ECHR actually is and what losing it would mean. This funny short video explains it.

Bored by the constant London centric thinking especially after living there for 20+ years. Access to this museum is fine for me thanks. Not everything has to be housed in London to be accessible. You have plenty of trains out of London to get to anywhere you want in the Uk too.
