Oddly enough I just read Metamorphosis. Is it a long short story or a novella?

I love short stories and they’re easier to teach than novels. Pupils get caught up in retelling plot in latter.

True. And the far right are on the rise here. I’m in no way complacent about the UK. I’m rather scared the way things are going.

And Otis Redding (one of my all-time favourites) loved the UK because he was treated with respect (no pun intended) wherever he went, unlike the American south.
