Agree wholeheartedly with this. If Carrick’s stint had started poorly/goes on to be poor (looks unlikely at this point), then by all means look elsewhere. But sometimes, it’s really not worth over complicating things.

Love that! Easiest 3 points of the season. Sets the weekend up nicely! Cheers Reds!

Darren Fletcher thinks Mbuemo is Brazilian.

Yep. I could easily see us going two up, relaxing a little, conceding a scrappy one and then fighting to cling on at the end of the game where a draw would feel like a defeat. We’ve seen it far too often over the years, hence the pessimism, but here’s to a solid, confident, clinical second half.

Be interesting to see how we manage this game now. Became a bit complacent even against the 11 of Fulham last week at 2-0 up. This side hasn’t convinced me of anything yet so a couple more goals needed to feel comfortable I think.

The Men’s Downhill at the #WinterOlympics looks like good fun, but far too dangerous. The best job is surely the person tasked with flying the drone down the slope in pursuit of them.

How we feeling Reds? Pretty average record against Spurs of late. Haven’t beaten them since 2022! Go in with the right mindset, start fast and show intent throughout and we should have enough to get the win but it won’t be as easy as Spurs’ league position suggests.

A proper Barclays Goal of the Month selection to choose from this month. Bit of a throw back. Stonker after stonker. I’d give it to Reed personally but notable mentions for Pat and Mat. #Barclays

If Tonali’s agent was touting him around yesterday, then I hope he’s been added to the Baleba/Wharton/Anderson list that has been widely reported. If there’s even the slightest chance he could be on the move in the summer then we should absolutely be in for him.

Thought last night’s Panorama on Steve Rosenberg in Russia was fascinating. A proper insight into proper journalism in bizarre and uncertain times. Well worth a watch.

Thought his save from Andersen in the first half today was underplayed by the commentators I was listening too. Excellent reflexes.

Enjoyable half that. Deserved lead. Players playing with a lot more trust in one another. Tight spaces negotiated with passing, movement and awareness. Amad brilliant and giving Robinson a torrid time. Fast start required after the break to try and kill the game as Fulham have been tidy. #MUFC

On this, I’ve no idea if Carrick would be a good choice come decision time. The next few months will shed more light on that front. But on a wider note, the whole β€˜big name’ rhetoric just feels too simplistic to me. Big name who has won things using completely different set of players = success. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Funny old game, football. Marseille and Napoli, two clubs led by managers heavily linked with the United job, both failing to even make the CL playoffs in a format where it’s arguably harder not to make the CL playoffs.

In signing Kyle Walker Peters in the summer and Adama Traore in this window, West Ham have further strengthened their grip on the β€˜Most Underwhelming Transfer Award’.

β€œBetween 1975 and 1988, West Brom went through a remarkable run of managers whose first names followed this sequence:

Johnny, Ronnie, John, Ron, Ronnie, Ron, Johnny, Nobby, Ron, and Ron.”

(Thanks to Denny Des Alberto via FB)

And among them were Wile, Giles and Styles.

Yep, he’s who I’d want if I were an Arsenal fan. I’d say Gabriel or maybe even Saliba would be better choices.

Currently scrabbling around for something as the β€˜I told you so’ raised eyebrows and rolled eyes notes that were being made when the OG went in have had to be torn up.

Genuine Q: is Ødegaard considered by Arsenal fans the right man to be captain? I don’t watch their games like I watch United so don’t see everything, but just struck me yesterday that he was taken off before the hour. Not that a captain should be untouchable but also appears to be other candidates?

Watching yesterday, and having seen similar instances at Spurs this season, it reminded me of something Andros Townsend said a while back.

He was making the point that players can feel the crowd getting on their backs/ anxious & that games are 90 and not 40/50/60 minutes long. Interesting insight.

It’s probably been said already, but among the Ole comparisons, vibes, DNA etc, Carrick’s decision to bring on Sesko last night when Dorgu got injured was telling. Many, including me, probably thought Mount, with his energy and defensive capability, would have been the change. A welcome surprise.
