I tried plugging a mouse in but it didn’t seem to power it and I can’t find any settings or emulator settings to enable such a thing

A little digging reveals that Shirley developed Spindizzy on the Amstrad CPC and it was later ported to the other 8-Bits like the #C64. Zzap BITD gave it an astonishing 98%, which seems too high, for the crazy difficulty ramp of the game. A fond classic though. Gorgeous map!
Loved that game. Couldn’t get very far in it. Still bothered to try any time I got a chance to use my uncle’s c64 though
