I'd only known of one until I started volunteering at the shelter. So I was surprised that it's not super rare.

There was a dilute calico tabby boy at the shelter where I volunteer! It was noticed when the tech was prepping for surgery. And there are a lot more solid orange tabby girls than I thought.

I carry a can of cheap cat food as a lure too.

Mine is "That wasn't so scary" and now twitching at trees rustling - the squeaky one are even worse for some reason- woodpeckers, roses and oh Sturdivant haunts me at random.

When I worked at a coffee shop regulars were the best! You see them come in, get their order together, they skip the line, pick it up, leaving money+tip and go. It gets rung up the next pause and so easy.

One of my cats was thwapping a baby copperhead the other night. It wasn't moving but I relocated it anyway then got to check the cat for bites. (It's just Benadryl if bitten - cat or dog- so not too worrying.)

I made the mistake of answering and hanging up. Apparently that triggered a 'live number' algorithm and the 2 days I counted there were 30 calls! Eventually it dropped and now it's 5-10. If it's a real call it'd better have a name pop up 'cause I'm not going thru that again.

The packing for shipping varies wildly is the only problem I have with SGW. They have packed cast iron sewing machines so poorly that they cracked. Good luck!

In the far past I have driven in my van for 2 blocks before my cat woke and walked up front to see where we were going. She didn't mind riding in cars at all!

I got over my fear of roach feet skittering across me at night because I had a small dog who would catch them and bring them to bed to (unsuccessfully) squash them with a shoulder roll. I got real good at grab and throw without having to wake up completely.

My grocery store has 2 different sized shopping carts. Apparently it's very hard to separate the sizes as you're putting them in the cart corral!

Scorpion stings make my tongue tingle for about 10 hours. It's a fizzy bubbles sensation so easy to ignore at least.

It sucks! I really didn't like the heaving at the outside edges. But it's fascinating how brains adjust.

Too bad he still can't get a suit that fits. I can see it wrinkling around his arms even in that poorly lit picture.

I had a raccoon that obsessively stole a water bowl one summer. It went several hundred feet once and I only found it because it was bright yellow.(I'm guessing raccoon because possums don't carry well and this bowl was heavy.) Hopefully your bowls are findable and not in a nest or on a roof!

That's an amazing 'tail curve of indignation' to go with the 'you know what you've done' look!

We had the regular merry-go-round on an asphalt base but also had another version that I'm surprised nobody died on. Take the regular merry-go-round and suspend it from a pole so it both spins and can smack into the pole. I only heard of one broken arm when I was in school there. Exciting times!

Same in Bastrop. People handing out water and coming by picking up empties and trash.

I almost had an under the refrigerator rat snake but I grabbed it and put it back outside. (If I'd had the mouse infestation -caused by a cat -still I would have let it stay.)

I had a cat who preferred to sleep under the covers with her head on my outstretched arm. The instant I had to move she was outta there!

It wasn't even mayo it was salad dressing! And I guess cottage cheese wasn't manly because dad had the salad dressing. (And I like the pear/cottage cheese combo even now.)

I remember this 'salad' from my childhood - minus the cherries. And a choice of cottage cheese or salad dressing!
