My apologies, I was trying to express (poorly) that it's unfortunate that many progressive people of faith do great work, and so many other people (including secular progressives) don't see that, and just see faith as the domain of conservative assholes. I could've phrased it more clearly.

Fair enough. I know many progressive people are doing noble work guided by their faith.

I guess I'm really expressing frustration that so few people (including many secular progressives) see that. It's not fair to say it's the fault of progressive Christians though. That wasn't my intention.

I keep waiting for progressive Christians to get way more assertive about reclaiming Christianity from these assholes. But I can see why they don't want the trouble.
