I think it's really worth noting that this concentration camp was opened one month and three days ago.

This woman saw enough horror in that time to quit and tell the public what she saw.

Which suggests that it's not as bad as we think, or as bad as we can envision from her description—it's worse.

ICE is at it again, despite the injunction stating they can't run operations like this anymore.

They rolled up in a rental truck, told day laborers they were looking for workers, then popped out of the back after people gathered around to talk to them.

Truly heinous shit.

we’ve made it clear that anyone who visits the US could be disappeared into a Salvadoran prison but I’m sure it’s the kids and their avocado toasts who’re to blame

Generative AI by definition is conformity. It is an averaging of anything you ask of it - quite literally guessing what the most likely version of a thing might be. It is, by definition, mainstream, as is everything it creates old and deeply ideological, as every model trains on similar data.

Of course you're on edge. You're in a government mandated relationship with one of the worst people America has ever puked up, who probably reminds you of the person you left home to get away from. Give yourself a little grace here.

"Executives pitched the idea of actually incorporating AI into one of the characters as a marketing strategy. The AI-generated character would be a sidekick, but the idea was ultimately scrapped because executives internally were told that the company couldn’t risk the bad publicity.”

The teacher who put a student's work (for a club!) into Microsoft's AI is a real piece of shit. That's so immensely rude and invalidating.

The commenters suggesting using AI show how useless it is. "At best it's a starting point that you triple-check the work of before doing it yourself anyway."

Be aware that another shitty bill has been introduced: The SCREEN Act.

If passed, it would require Full. Age. Verification.

Like KOSA, call all your reps & tell them what a horrible idea this is.

Spread this pls.

Alex replies: "Gobelin machinery? What exactly are you referring to?"

It's a wild world this #AniMonday

I originally wanted the #butterflies to be right behind #Teddy and he juuust missed them. But everyone was worried that it might seem he's see them, so we moved them to the kitchen.

The great Chris Boren helped me with the Teddy animation.

me: I just, I just don’t understand why I’m here. And wearing a jumpsuit.

Hegseth: After the cuts to every scientific agency, we had no one else, and your name kept coming up …

me: I wrote a movie. Fiction.

Hegseth: This Administration does not recognize that distinction.

East Asia really just blows potato salad out of the water. There's a shop in LA that specializes in banchan (Perilla) and their potato salad is so damn good.

A fun reminder that a loss of 60,000 jobs in and around academia is ~50% more than all coal mining jobs in the entire country.

The fact that ai art and writing programs are built on stolen work really seems to be fading from the discussion even amongst artists and writers, which is a bit shit.

Transphobia is infuriating AND self-defeating. If you're AFAB, you're going to go through menopause...HRT has been a lifesaver for me. It may even stave off dementia!

If HRT is banned for trans folks, think it'll be easy for us cis folk to access it?

A little solidarity just might save YOUR life.
