I hadn’t picked up on that. Will have to re-listen. But those are also all bands who lost key members and were able to find a way forward without them.

I suspect I shall be picking those other two up soon.

Currently reading Alwyn Turner’s histories of the 70’s/80’s/90’s and he is much more skilled at weaving in how the culture reflected the times.

She appears on Peaceful World, Ron Carter too, maybe only on one or two tracks. It’s not always great but definitely worth hearing. One of those US bands that had a long varied career but made barely a ripple over here.

The Rascals have an interesting career arc. From Groovin’ to this and then a couple of records later they are moving into jazz territory, making double LP’s and getting Alice Coltrane to play with them.

Picked up in Barcelona - another Brazilian record with a wrecked cover but record sounds fine. OG pressing from ‘74.

After visiting 6 or so record shops in Barcelona, I’ve clarified some things I really dislike…

1. Filling the crates so tight you can’t flick through the records
2. Mixing 2nd hand and re-issues together
3. Putting the price stickers on the backs of the records!

Apparently Robbie Williams is now also doing visual art.

In Barcelona for a few days. This was tonight’a dinner - black paella with cuttlefish.

Had a check and it turns out I own this on cassette, CD and LP. A late night favourite from 1991.

1973 Argentinian pressing. Cover is promo stamped and well rinsed, but actually despite quite a bit of surface noise the record plays fine. A really great record.

Turns out there’s another musical Matt Berry. Some of it’s a bit Pernice Brothers with louder guitars and one track that sounds like a cross between Evan Dando and Oasis. In a good way.
