I like the Legion wars, because the traitor legions are still cohesive enough that there's elements of proper war happening, but they're also so far gone someone will sometimes just do something crazy and then everyone has to deal with it (see Harmony, Kharn, Fabius, etc)

A lot of time loops fit into the power leveling category, which is a shame, because there's a lot of fun ways to play with time loops.

I've read a disproportionate amount of those ones compared to the overall genre because frankly, they tend to be the good ones. Some variants you see are "discovers synergy/exploit of supposedly useless skill" and "gets skill that allows for power leveling/absorption, but still has to do that part"

The fact that I only got them after college is one my personal big regrets.

That's reasonable, I suspect it's going to be come the ideal entry point if the fantasy games are any indication.

Battlesector is probably the closest you're going to get, and even then it's slightly orthogonal to tabletop in a couple of weird ways. I assume GW has some kind of red line about exactly how close you can get to computer warhammer.

T'au can be frustrating to play against since they refuse to engage in one of the game's core phases, but a lot of that heat is over edition specific cheese strats involving transports that have since been nerfed or avoided. Also if you want ww2 as a starting point, the guard is doing ok rn.

The Hammerhead is a significant threat to most deities, let alone most tanks. (though in 40k there is some overlap)

It feels like there's almost no space between that and arguing that all stories except paleolithic cave paintings are derivative trash.

Feels like there's space for crochet girlies as something separate from doll girlies and plushie girlies. My mom and a bunch of other gen x women talk over instagram and spend most of their free time making cats and dragons and kodama and such.

There's also the not insignificant overlap with the yaoi girlies. Horus Heresy has to be up there with star trek tos in terms of unintended yaoi fanbase.

if you got time to fill make up stories about the guys. They don't have to be anything other than silly.

it's called a wet palette. It keeps the paint at a constant level of moisture, but also provides a surface for wicking. The moisture control of a wet palette also helps get a constant consistency, so you can tune the paints to the point that you don't need to wick.

Ok I'm flipping through the relevant bill now and there's some ambiguity on who it applies to, since it sorts parties into "the U.S." and "not the U.S.", and a common sense reading would put the penguins in the "not the U.S." camp.

Near as I can tell, they got untariffed when the Supreme Court blanket tore down that entire wave of tariffs, but since he said the new wave is hitting everyone, I think they've been retariffed at 10%, as opposed to the first one, which was 17%.

HG Wells was so funny. half his novels were lovingly crafted novels explaining all of British society called, like, The Predelictions of Mr Pike. none of these have been read by anyone since 1947. the other half are tossed-off nonsense called, idk, THE TIMEFUCKER, and created 60% of all sci-fi plots

Was at the Doctor's office the other day for a checkup. As the nurse was checking me in, she commented, "You are not originally from Colorado, are you?"

"No, I'm not. How can you tell?", I replied.

"You're dressed quite nice.", She said. "People out here just prefer to be comfortable."

90% of warhammer paints are acrylic, so a water bath is probably the place to start.

The only way you can really screw up is acetone. Do not use acetone. That will melt the mini.

Do you know what kind of paint it is? If it's acrylic some combination of water and isopropyl alcohol and a gentle brush (cheap toothbrush) usually works.

* I should also note I'm using lowend comparisons for human brainpower, how many flops can neurons perform is a conversion with orders of magnitude in the margin error. The numbers for computers could very well be 1000x times worse than this approximation!

22.02.2026 21:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 5    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The human brain is a supercomputer that runs off of 20 watts, approximately 1/3 of a lightbulb. Nvidia recently showed off a computer with about 1/10 the processing power of a brain, that uses 240 watts. It's much easier to scale computers, but brains still beat the pants off em in efficiency.
