There are three or four indie devs I give a pass to, but the rest of you should be making derivative games based solely on Treasure’s N64 masterpiece Mischief Makers.

I’m a big fan of Syndicate. I think if you managed to divorce it from AC as a whole it could have been an all-timer of a game, but as-is it’s just a pretty well realized late-stage AC with a great setting and some really neat ideas here n’ there, which is more than I can say for most of them.

Assassins Creed Syndicate solves every problem in the series by letting me pal around London as a really cool lady and kill the British tho, so there’s that!

If you could set aside 4 hours and 18 minutes today for my new video, that would be much appreciated.

Jumpstart Unlimited

I found a really cool thing related to jumpstart. Someone has been making custom jumpstart packs for a lot of different sets, and they've made a website where you can draft two packs of it and get a decklist

My dad just got me to watch the first episode of the show Slow Horses and then it was 4 hours later and I had watched most of the first season.

There’s a really bad movie based on a pretty bad book about that.

Finale Pyramid Head fight still kinda sucks, but that was probably always gonna be the case. Final boss was so heavily improved it’s stunning.

James, I think, comes out as remake’s best adapted feature. Actor is excellent, and the little moments are so good.

SH2R great!
But SH4 still the GOAT =)

SH2:R just kept getting better at it went on. I still think the Hospital is probably it’s most successfully handled location, but both Prison and Hotel are great. Never felt tedious or blocked, backtracking never felt bad or over-wrought.

Abstract Daddy rework was a huge win. It was always so odd how it was handled OG SH2. The new one isn’t mind blowing or anything, but it’s a fun sequence leading up to the (very easy but decent) fight. Loved how he looked.

Eddie fight was actually fun, which is a triumph of gargantuan proportions.

SH2 Prison was also very good.

The game definitely has that quality almost every Survival Horror game has tho, where the first few hours are a stressful mess of low to no resources, and then once you hit the middle + onward you’re just absolutely drowning in ammo if you spend any time looking.

SH2R hospital was tops.

James continues to be endearingly the worst, and Maria really has a lot of room to feel like more than she did in the original.

As for the others, Laura and Eddie are about the same, with Laura’s new VA putting her a bit ahead, but Angela is really great this time around.

You may assume implementing a basic income system helps those benefitting from it purchase things and therefore maintain the productive economy but this is actually propaganda from woke gay videogame victoria 3

Real. The attack strings in ER felt really impressive on my first run, like something I had to adjust to and truly learn, but it really did just end up being a lot of β€˜stop damaging for a bit’ over and over. Certainly hurts the β€˜duel’ fantasy.

I do still love many of the bosses, but… yeah.

Learned behaviours/ built up skills make a huge difference, but ER more than most Soulsies really does have that β€˜wow, this weapon is… uh… wow.’ quality.

RE Village asks us the question: What if we had the a bunch of really cool ideas, none of which fully get fleshed out, ultimately leading to a disappointing confluence of potential and payoff.

Also it’s awesome.

I’m watching a really good video on why Resident Evil 5 is derivative and dull; very well made.

Unfortunately, I like Volcano Wesker.

I think GDT Frankenstein would be made about 30% better by the removal of a few bits of dialogue, and with a little bit more faith in the audience. It really does feel like somewhere along the line someone made the call that β€˜you really should be able to tell who the good guy is,’ which is painful.

GDT Frankenstein quite good. It’s a neat take on split subject matter (maybe 15% film, 50% Novel, and 35% new), and interestingly the most pro-creature version of the story I’ve seen, unfortunately in ways that shave a good bit of the moral complexity away.

Still, a great watch.
