Oops - just saw that it serves 4. So I guess it gets cut up. Still wouldn’t be keen.

And how do you eat it? With great difficulty I would imagine.

Yes but only in the last couple of days.

The sound of late summer. I love them.

The perfect spot for reading. A yellow book called the Cat Operator’s Manual is on the table with an empty cup - the tea it contained was just finished. Beyond the table are the tops of agapanthus, then a green lawn sweeping down to the bluest of blue seas and a paler blue sky.

I had a weekend at the beach and took a book with me. Loved both. @queenoliviaiii.com

Sometimes I have to force myself out the gate. I work from home too and I’m happy here.

I gave brief thought to lighting the fire but let it go because yes, it’s February. A blanket might be needed though.

My wife and I were on a beach in the Wellington area and found this at a car park, in the grass.

It is approximately the size of a person's hand, made of bone, and intricately carved.

I've masked the lower half,as only the legitimate owner will be able to fully describe it.

Please share this...(1)

I occasionally make tea with the leaves but mostly I just like it because it flowers when not much else does and I love the smell of the leaves. Apparently the flowers are edible so can be used as a garnish or in ice cubes for a fancy cool drink.

Just checked with her and she got it from Animates. Sonic sound dog control.

Thanks for the reminder about the pineapple sage. Must go and cut mine back. Just did my lavender.

My sister has two (rather large) and enthusiastic dogs who like to greet everyone that walks past the front fence or comes to the door. She recently got a device that emits a high pitched noise that the dogs hear but people can’t. It has stopped them without hurting them.

Yes - we had one that stuck out of the kitchen wall on the south side of the house. Metal mesh sides. Later it was removed and the space made big enough to accomodate our first fridge. Still stuck out through the south wall but at least it didn’t take up room in the kitchen.

No trees.

Nothing but grass to hold up the entire hillside.

When will we ever learn?

Sounds good to me. Cherry ripe 9/10 and Turkish delight 8/10. Either would be good right now.

Sunset on a cloudy evening. Golden orange at the bottom, a strip of clear sky, then dark clouds above.

Hoping the wind blows the clouds away and lets the aurora shine through.

I still feel that even though I left home when I was 17 and the house wasn’t sold until when my mum died and I was in my 50’s. Knowing that I could stay there any time was important and anchoring. Then it was gone.

Deep pink and blue sky at sunset, looking out to the mountains.

Same sunset but a more orange and red sky, this time with a large tree in the foreground.

The world may be in chaos but the sunsets bring moments of magic. 5 minutes apart.

I nearly said that you had to have the right sock - but of course you need the left one as well.

No. It’s essential to have the perfect sock for every occasion.
