Seems like most huge corporations these days are at least soft, or tacit, supporters of fascism. Or worse. But Costco has retained its integrity. So far.

Note that the beating and charging was perfomed by Buffalo PD, the abandonment leading to death was performed by ICE. Villains all around.

Just a clarification: LOCAL authorities chose to tase, arrest, and charge the man. CBP was then responsible for abandoning him in the wrong place, ultimately resulting in his death.

I know this is becoming something of a mantra but it is really disheartening to be reminded constantly how many seemingly normal folks out there are just completely bereft of the most rudimentary degree of basic decency or moral sense.

Honestly almost as revolting as the behavior of the cops & CBP involved is the Erie County DA’s office that looked at this fact pattern and decided “yup, better bring charges against this menace to society.”

They beat a blind refugee who speaks no English for failing to obey police commands he could not understand. Then instead of apologizing, they charged him with possession of a “weapon”—HIS WALKING STICK. Then they dumped him miles from home without notifying anyone, after which he was found dead.

It would be over in six months if the entire Democratic Party were not refusing to fight this pro-Russian coup.

The United States has no opposition party and no opposition leader. Only traitors and betrayers.

The media should cover this as murder because it is.

Private employers have all kinds of legal obligations with respect to federal tax withholdings held in trust, they're supposed to be submitted via EFTPS within a couple business days or the IRS can come after the CEO/CFO personally.

But the state as employer, this idea is much easier to accomplish.

California and Illinois have nearly 800,000 state employees combined. It's the state government who processes the payroll, they could divert federal withholdings to a state-run escrow fund by throwing a switch.

That's something like $200 million of federal tax revenue per MONTH to help Minnesota.

Hold federal tax liabilities in impoundment until the executive branch comes into compliance with federal law.

The IRS with its ranks already decimated by Trump will have a hell of a time trying to claw back small payments from tens of millions of individuals.

I would like to see Pritzker and Newsom declare a state tax receivership fund whereby citizens pay their federal tax liabilities into a state-run escrow account rather than directly to the IRS.

The state can hold these funds in trust for the federal government until Trump obeys the Impoundment Act.

Apropos Democrats, empty talk, gaslighting and fundraising, etc. Some of what should have been happening since last year while they spend their time on @msnowreports.bsky.social and absurd junkets (see Munich).

The MAGA Migra murders multiply while democratic politicians and officials do jack shit and cash in through @actblueorg.bsky.social
