A dream come true: the first expansion microscopy images of C. flexa 🀩 Generated by Mylan & Uzuki who learned from the best (@hiralshah.bsky.social @gautamdey.bsky.social @dudinlab.bsky.social). We will learn so much from these!

WOSM-TIRF up running! Awesome #Tirf imaging of microtubules and EB comets in #Xenopus egg extract. The WOSM-TIRF is the big brother of the eduWOSM (doi.org/10.7554/eLife.104046.1). So grateful to @irobcross.bsky.social & Nick Carter for this collaboration & @agencerecherche.bsky.social for funding.

Yean Ming Chew and I wrote doi.org/10.1042/BST2... about MT lattice switching. We discuss evidence that protofilament-level structural switching is ancient and fundamental and conserved; and that tubulation creates new allosteric interfaces that operate on essentially the same structural switch.
