Our research associate, Dr. Ackerly, has been a busy fish! She gave a talk at the International Congress on the Biology of Fish in Michigan and then gave another talk at the Society for Experimental Biology Conference in Prague. After all that, she still had energy for fieldwork!

It’s field work season! Our team, along with our colleagues in the Brandl Lab @UTMSI, have been traveling to Matagorda Bay to collect oysters and water samples to test for PFAS/PFOS 🌊🚤

Was asked to be an honorary alumni speaker at this year’s Latino scholarship fund of Western Massachusetts. I was surrounded by Latino excellence and hope that my speech inspired and prepared young generations of LatinX students in their journey of higher education 🇩🇴🇵🇷

Meet Dr. Kristin Nielsen, the PI of our ecotoxicology lab! Dr. Nielsen is an assistant professor at UT Austin’s Marine Science Institute (UT MSI), where her lab studies the impacts of toxicants on aquatic organisms and downstream implications for human health 🐟
