Yeah, our usual is 800-1000 kids. So this was a lot even for our neighborhood. 😆

We have the perfect weather to do it outside too, which helps. I just set up a table in the front yard.

Yeah, I set things up a specific way to make it less intense, and our dog stays with me the whole time (mostly because she loves all the attention, but the emotional support is nice too) b/c yes, it's definitely draining to this uber-introvert. But I love it too much to complain abt that aspect. 😆

Oh, and we got an Amazon delivery in the middle of the crush, and the poor woman had to wait in line with the kids, holding the stack of boxes, because the walkway was stuffed all the way to the street. I told her to grab a handful of candy. 😆

(She *was* in costume, er, a uniform. 😉)

We ran out of candy despite spending a lot. Only neighbor I saw that *didn't* run out had bought 17 Costco bags of candy. 17!

My Dad's side of the family has two branches: one where a "u" with an umlaut was turned into an "ei" and one where it was turned into a plain "u".

That choice changed their names. 🤷‍♀️

Oh, and the reason that the "10am class" is relevant is because school started at 8am. So yes, I wrote that through my first classes. 🤣

And I'm pretty sure I was chosen to present my paper to the class because it got the best grade. 😬

The funny thing is that the reason I still remember that example so well is because to make my report "believable", I had to create "characters" with different personalities for those survey answers. It's one of the first times I can point to me creating characters. 🤣

So yeah, a whole new reality!
