During a recent debate in Parliament I welcomed the change in ownership at Reading Football Club, and also the positive impact the new Football Governance Bill will have on responsible ownership of clubs across the country.

I hope the changes to the law in this Act of Parliament will help stop any other English club being put under threat by an irresponsible owner.

Iβm very proud that we have a high take up of electric vehicles in our town, both for private and commercial vehicles. The government recently announced a scheme to help with the purchase of EVs, which you can find out more about here:

Residents have suffered appalling problems with sewage pollution, loss of water supplies and even subsidence.
I asked the Environment Secretary to update me on how a new regulator will help.
Investing in children should be a shared national mission.
I welcomed the Government spending more on early years and in particular the investment in Reading.

I called for this to include investment in high streets and small businesses during a debate on the Pensions Bill.
It was a pleasure to meet environmental campaigners in Parliament.

It was wonderful to join the celebrations with the Mayor of Reading, Cllr Alice Mpofu Coles and Head Teacher, Chris Evans.
Good to be able to help some of our hard working councillors at their street surgery in Broad Street on Saturday.
Abbey ward councillors Keren Rowland, David Stevens and Mohammed Ayub are working on a wide range of issues.
Good to raise awareness of issues affecting shop workers.
The shop workers' union, Usdaw, had a stall in Broad Street.
The Union is campaigning against violence towards shop workers and a range of other issues.
Good to attend the Reading headteachers' conference last week and to hear more about the vital work of local schools.

I recently spoke in Parliament in support of giving local authorities more power to tackle speeding to make our streets safer and help take pressure off of our police.
