That random fall day when "the flip" happens and its lower humidity and cool temps should be a city holiday. You never know when exactly it happens but I loved it whenever it did.

16.09.2025 15:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Professional sports is the closest thing to live, unscripted, live theater. And it's often based on local affiliation. If you live in a town and like your town you often gravitate towards supporting your town club!
16.09.2025 15:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Btw. I'm agreeing with you. Im not sure pro/rel does solving for a club fan. I think it "solves" some of the worries for neutrals

But all that said, still nothing quite like an afternoon/evening at the park
It's amazing what $3 beers before first pitch can do for a franchise with a large transplant population. My friends and I only go to watch our (former) home teams play the Rockies. Kind of amazing it works, but somehow it does.
I just hope this year is finally too embarrassing for the ownership...
Hi bsky birding folks! I'll be going on a pilgrimage across Spain on the Camino de Santiago starting the 3rd week of August. As part of it I'm hoping to do some birding along the way. Does anyone have any good places to check out along the Camino Frances, or for after once we've finished? Thanks! πͺΆ

Definitely feels like a nearby possible world had it 4-1 at the half
A Rufous-breasted Antthrush perched atop an arching branch. The branch makes an arch from the bottom left to bottom right through the middle. The black and reddish/brown bird is looking slightly askance at us with their tail pointed straight up.
Honestly, just happy to have gotten this one on camera and in focus. Rufous-breasted Antthrush hopping up onto the limb to check us out. πͺΆ

It's demoralizing as a fan to see the gouging this bad
A medium sized bird perches on a mossy covered branch. The Toucan Barbet has a bright red chest, a grey neck, yellow bill with black tip.

Here's one very damp Golden-naped Tanager. Mindo, Ecuador. πͺΆ

Might be two things depending on what you see and timing. They normally incorporate feathers into a nest so if the nest broke up you'd get that mess. Or could also just be feather molt as they often will take the time right after nesting to replace their entire flight feather groups.
