Very much so. A culture of greed cannot coexist with a culture of empathy. The outcome is tearing communities apart and unraveling our constitution. It's destroying at the large and small end of the scale all because we are told not to empathize because we'd humanize others necessarily to do so.

I dropped him because of leading pedestrian intervals being legal for bikes here and kept laughing for a few blocks. I spin crazy RPMs on this bike because of the gear ratio so I look like I'm riding furiously and only going like 22mph while laughing like a maniac.

Also had a guy on a chopper pull up next to me at a red light and say "wow. What kind of bike is that? I love it." Picture me riding the moral equivalent of a temu fixie running 20in wheels at 50 gear inches and a large and loud motorcycle next to it. 😂

In other news, my brakeless minivelo has fresh treads. Ready to skid some more. With all the red light criminal summons going around, the back tire doesn't last as long as it used to.

It came with a bitter taste from my mouth. It’s why I don’t believe any of the current political parties will lead us out of this. Even as a NYer who voted for Mamdani in the Dem primary, the party is toast. We can squeeze some candidates through but we need skip the establishment to scale up.

They seem to have the unique cruelty to say that there’s a compromise to find between human rights and eradication. Just like everything else falling apart right now, it’s sold as a mercy that we should be thankful for.
