15.02.2026 19:40 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Me and my best mate went to Piccadilly records in Manchester before poly on the day it was released .
15.02.2026 17:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Display an album that was important to you when you were nineteen.
15.02.2026 17:31 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Apart from the soft play it is
15.02.2026 13:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0An unexpected bonus is making new friends via playgroups and school gates. Our kids are pretty much grown but I still have people in my phone as βKen Samβs Dadβ and βEmma Leonβs mum.β We go to gigs and pubs having shared the horror of the soft play nearly 20 years ago.
15.02.2026 12:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Parent & Baby screenings are a godsend. My son peed on me during the third Pirates of the Caribbean film which felt like a reasonable critique
15.02.2026 12:25 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I didnβt much care for Wuthering Heights. Seemed to lack the courage of its convictions. Alison Oliver and Martin Clunes very good though. I think AO is becoming one of my favourite actors (great in Task)
14.02.2026 19:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 03 Scouse acts in the top 4
My wife went to the Isle of Man with Our Kid and Radio Merseyside.

The LW one is amazing
13.02.2026 14:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@johnaugust.bsky.social thanks for the conversation with Joachim Trier on Scriptnotes. Made me appreciate Sentimental Value even more, and I already thought it was the best film of the year.

I think this single podcast is as significant as Alexander Mackendrickβs On Directing, Sidney Lumetβs Making Movies or William Goldmanβs Adventures In The Screen Trade. If youβre interested in filmmaking/writing itβs essential. And Sentimental Value is magnificent
John Boormanβs Excalibur - taken by my Arthurian legend obsessed brothers in law even though I was 11 and in the UK you needed to be over 14. For a while I thought it was the greatest film of all time.

Reminded me of a phrase you once coined:
βCry-wanking over Spitfires.β
Yeah I like GG (and to be honest Iβll forgive Aldo anything coz of his commentary on the Barcelona 4-0)
12.02.2026 11:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Two most recent reads: Ioved the Carlo Levi, a memoir that feels like a novel, vivid characters and sense of time and place. Enjoyed The History of Sound too - donβt usually go for short stories but this was a gift. Written with elegance and economy which is quite the combination. #Booksky
12.02.2026 08:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So Charles chipped in for his nonce brotherβs hush money whip round. Fuck him. Fuck the lot of them.
11.02.2026 22:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love that cover (and that single).
11.02.2026 22:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My mate lives in the US and listens on LFCTV quite often (but canβt cope with Aldo when we lose).
11.02.2026 22:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Agreed. I think about it a lot.
11.02.2026 22:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Imagine being a Man U fan or player reading this. Utter gobshite.
11.02.2026 22:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fuckinell. This is so sad. I was a Dawsonβs Creek fan and he was excellent in The Rules of Attraction.
11.02.2026 22:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fuck. This. Bell.End.
11.02.2026 18:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ally McCoist and Fletcher mentioned it constantly on the TNT commentary.
