We sometimes play Target. Like 20 questions, but it has to be found in the store. Limits the playing field so we don't keep coming up with obscure dinosaurs. Categories are easier too- it is in the home section? Plus we don't count the questions.

Hate the chaos that ensues when teachers choose not to return after fall break. The kids panic. The building is wild. Sigh.

I understand but stick out the year please. Or talk to us lifers.

I was a STEM specialist with 680 students, K-5 plus autism and EBD programs, 26 classes and 2 class and a halfs with a 4 day rotation. 7 classes each day.

Totally couldn't do it- impossible. Now I just teach first grade. Still relatively impossible but not like elem specials.

I threw out my dead plants. There are so many empty spaces please remind me I can't afford to fill them in now.

But it looks so sad!

First day of school tomorrow! Looking forward to meeting them without parents and everyone all together. Really hoping we can start strong.

They seemed great at open house, but last year's teachers mostly cried and quit. There's a big change from K to 1, hoping it's good!

I love teaching six year olds.

Workshop week is horrible and makes me cry. Can it be the first day of school already? Except that I'm not ready?

Just spent two hours making butterscotch meringue pie. Went through yolk in the egg whites, a broken plate all over the floor, tears from the child, random neighbor visit, laughter, and an 'oh no it's an hour past bedtime' panic. It better be good when we eat it tomorrow!

Oh I can see how that looks. Thanks for calling it out. I'm sorry.

We are a fully inclusive school and I literally meant students who have been diagnosed with Developmental Cognitive Delay. Complete sentences are often a challenge and visiting admin often ask them questions for some reason.

That's brilliant! Admin always asks the kid staring out the window or the one with cognitive delays first. I love tasking it to someone!

My students (1st grade) get on the bus around 6:40-7. They all eat at school at 7:20 before early recess. I'm grateful my state covers breakfast (and lunch) for everybody.

Made pancakes for dinner with a box mix. They didn't taste as good as the ones I usually make from scratch. To be expected, right?

Until someone checked the box. It had expired three years ago. We all ate it. Here's hoping we're gonna be okay! 🀞

These bad air days are awful. But I can't breathe outside so... inside it is. Hopefully your tomorrow will be better!

I ask a morning meeting question every day at school. Best 15 minutes of the day and they all light up! They love to all share every day!

Also, I steal the time from "learning minutes" but they learn more when they know they are seen and liked and heard.

I typically read 4 or more books at a time. Life is hard today so I was gonna just read. Finished one, okay, pick up another in progress. Oh no, in an hour I finished five books.

Now I have to choose........ I am not prepared!

For sure! The computer isn't always sure.

If I was a bot, would I know??? Or would I think I am human?

As a first grade teacher I agree!

Although kindergarten really is the wild wild west. Thanks for teaching them what school is. Now I'll teach them to read even as I buy hundreds of books for them out of pocket.

I love friends who have agreed to never grow old. Went to a cabin for a weekend, ambushed each other with squirt guns outside the bathroom, had whistling contests on a walk, and laughed until we peed. Good times!

That moment when you forgot you're wearing a princess dress and a homemade cardstock tiara and you go to talk to the construction workers. Oops.

There was a child with me a mere 20 minutes ago. I'm sorry, she isn't here now but she does exist. πŸ˜‚πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Yes. I've been the same weight for 25 years no matter if I eat a lot or a little, work out a ton or not at all. It's better to eat right and work out for how I feel. How I look is apparently the way I am supposed to but I get a lot of judgment.

Got back from a week serving people in another city. Praying my team catches the vision and digs in where we are. Mission trips don't really help the place we go. They transform the people who saw outside their own bubble.

Spent many days like that- you're not alone. And your weaving is beautiful! Creating beauty while living in pain is difficult and amazing.

Fireworks in a small town is the best. Seeing old friends, bumping into family, seeing kids and teens growing up. Plus watching people you know blowing up things in the air as the boats circle. Good times.

Also important for singles. Apparently I'm scary to a whole host of people. I will not break up your marriage if your husband hugs me, I promise.
