For an iPhone biometric sign-in is handled by a separate piece of hardware with its own OS called the Secure Enclave. All of your sensitive data is handled by this including FaceID (or fingerprint) biometrics. When an app asks for faceID the SE just sends them a message that says “yep it’s them”.

Stupider story. My brother was generating AI images of a sign he wanted my dad to paint. Once they picked a mock, my brother asked for the color info. It responded with Hex, Pantone, and RBG. All three were different colors. None of them matched the image. No one realized and I called them out lol

I got back from PTO at work this week and there was a big fire drill about a law that may impact our product. To try and get ahead of it someone on my team send a long email with lots of detail to our GCO. The entire email was written by AI, and referenced a different law that didn’t exist :)

My family and people at work have been just using AI responses for the most simple tasks and now I go out of my way to fact check and lecture them about why they’re dumbasses, doesn’t change their behavior but gives me some catharsis
