Finally! It took the grand opening of the Joe Pye Weed flowers to bring in the monarchs 🦋! Milkweed has been blooming all over the yard but they never show up until these guys are open. A happy sight indeed 🌱

Monarda bradburnia and Salvia lyrata: two underrated spring bloomers that enhance the garden all summer and into the fall. Plant as many of these as you can!

Jacob’s ladder is blooming now and it’s so funny to see these heavy carpenter bees landing on the delicate flower stalks. This is a really nice plant for shady spots: it spreads naturally and deer/rabbits leave it alone. 🌱
