And the only channel I don’t get on Sling that DTV has is CBSSN. And I ain’t paying $40+ a month for one channel.

Honestly the steaming cable I miss the most is the DirecTV one. It was awesome interface and response, and had ALL the channels. The problem with that was after the first year, the rates went through the roof and then some. I think last I looked it was like $120+ a month.

And frankly, you sign up today there’s probably some discount or free first month. And I think Sling does like a Day Pass thing too if you want to ride out this dispute and stick with YTTV.

Sharing this from yesterday in case anyone is jumping ship from YTTV today. I know every situation is different, but this has worked out great for us.

Sidebar, but I didn’t realize until looking at this week’s slate just how many games are on ESPN-owned channels on a given Saturday. Between ABC, ESPN, 2, U, SECN, ACCN, that is a LOT of games that are suddenly blacked out on YTTV.

If your team of choice is on the espn family of networks today and you use YouTube TV, feel free to come over. Probably getting a box of wings from Publix. There’s weed gummies in the bedroom drawer.

My wife does this every year. Mainly so all the people with kids get to know each other for play dates, in case of emergencies etc. It’s a huge pain in the ass lol. But it’s fun. Grill hot dogs, get out lawn games, just shoot the shit.

We’ve reached the point down here where I check the forecast early in the week to decide Garage Sim or Outside. 71 is the outlook next week so it’s looking outside. But if it rains down here this time of year a day or two before, Garage Sim because all the courses turn to soup.

Toronto has a little juice just because of how many of their fans invade Detroit for games, but other than that, yeah, just nothing. Hard to be rivals when during your heyday it was Chicago/Colorado/St Louis all their time.

I think the big part of it, is at some point they had playoff rivalries with all the teams in the West minus Vegas and Seattle. In the East, they have three playoff trips, didn’t win a round, and got Gentleman’s Swept in two of those series. Hard to build rivals when you’re struggling.

It’s also probably because the Red Wings have made the playoffs what, maybe 3 times since heading East and are yet to win a series. Tough to have rivals or bad blood when you stink for 10 years.

I know it’s because I’m of a certain age, but the Red Wings playing St Louis, LA, and Anaheim lately feels right. I just do not care when they play the Islanders, Flyers, Capitals, etc. They’re a Western Conference team, all their biggest rivals are there. Stinks they cried their way into the East.
