This was my first thought but I'm from NJ so it felt inappropriate.

Every book on Booklist's "holiday romance roundup" is actually a Christmas romance because the ALA is dedicated to inclusivity.

I just got an email about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library but all I could see of the subject line was "Dolly Parto..." and when I tell you I PANICKED.

I have to thank Colorado for turning cold and gloomy just in time for the release day of All of Us Murderers by @kjcharleswriter.com. A+ reading experience.

Heck yes, we eat at one of their locations so often they know us by name and I'm not at all surprised to see that they're doing this. (And the food rules, so if you're local and not furloughed, maybe go have a tasty snack and support them).

And if most of the relevant books are checked out because your patrons are as awesome as mine, have cover photos and qr codes so they are still visible and to make it as easy as possible to place holds on them!

Ha! I just got out of a meeting where I was like, "I mean I'll miss the cat calendars, but my carts have *been* exported."

Consumer-facing "A.i." is controlled by rightwing billionaires with an interest in spreading disinfo. Excise it from your lives, friends. It's trash.

I just really didn't envision the collapse of our society being so deeply unserious.

91 years is a good long run for most but too short for someone like Jane Goodall. Damn.

As foretold, our moon cycle of visibility wanes as our great bisexual prophet Billie Joe stirs in readiness. Upon his reawakening tomorrow, we will regain our stealth powers.
The innocent can never last but we, the bisexuals, are always here. In the shadows for another year.

the post office is a public service. it doesn’t need to make money. public transit doesn’t need to make money. the library doesn’t need to make money. some things exist for the public good and we desperately need lawmakers to stop thinking about them in terms of capitalism. these are not businesses.

There is a real disconnect in people who can simultaneously tell Texas they get what they voted for and also just want to lay down on the street and give up at the idea of not having their easy & accessible voting.

Welcome to the party, it sucks. Start supporting voting rights orgs RIGHT NOW.

My old farrier swore by letting the water tank overflow occasionally so they would stand in mud periodocally but not soak in it. He was definitely old school, but my horse's feet *did* stop cracking, so 🀷. (I didn't worry about thrush because of how dry it is here).

YOU TOOK YOUR BRAIN OUT OF THE EQUATION. THAT IS NOT BRAINSTORMING.

An orange cat curled up on a gray counter with his back foot and tail tucked under his chin, which is resting on the counter. His eyes are almost all the way closed because the dishwasher warmth has melted him.

Imagine you're just an empty-headed cat and the dishwasher is making the counter warm and your human has given up on making you get down.

i know we have to "push back" or whatever but this administration has us saying the goofiest, most obvious shit. late night hosts are allowed to make jokes. actually, WE pay tariffs. no, that's not how tylenol works. could be solving climate change but instead we're debunking middle school rumors

I wrote a paper arguing for this in college in the early 2000s. People have been trying for decades to get guns regulated like every other dangerous consumer product. It would absolutely work, which is why the gun lobby and violence enthusiasts are determined not to let it happen.

"Briefed on harms and benefits" is NOT accurate. They want people forced to hear inaccurate (at best - it's disinformation is what it is) statements about "harms" that have not been shown to be significant. Language matters and the press should know that.
