Why are Americans supposed to accept claims of national security concerns regarding TikTok with no evidence?

What national security concerns? I have seen no evidence, and AOC said she wasn’t compelled by the scant argument offered in the security briefing.

That works for me. I’d be happy to see 1/10 of Pelosi’s success.

That’s fine. He can and will say whatever he wants. The US government made a huge mistake banning it, and Biden a huge mistake in not granting the extension today. If Trump is going to fix that let him brag about it… people will see through it.

If Bluesky gets short form videos, and a decent interest algorithm and interface, I think a lot will follow.

Fund a SuperPac to get money/corporations out of politics. It’s disgusting how many politicians voted against TikTok while invested in Meta.

I’ve written my elected officials twice a year on this issue for years now. It’s way past time to end this ridiculous process.

Fair. But there’s a lot more parents will want to censor/explain in Little House books as well. I’ve wondered if it’s possible to edit them for modern audiences, but I suspect the racist content is to engrained into some of the books to remove.

We often think of censorship negatively, so here’s a positive example: Church leaders may ‘censor’ teachings that conflict with Scripture to protect the church’s theological integrity and keep it grounded in truth.

My mother read me the Little House books growing up. I grabbed Prairie Fires by Caroline Fraser and have been devouring it. An amazing level of research went into this book. Who knew we had all this material? Laura Ingalls Wilder and her daughter, Rose, are fascinating. Must read book.

Yeah. I don’t get stories at all. But I think the underlying structure of managing content here is superior, and should extend to other media. I like the idea of starter packs and moderation lists.

It needs more short form videos. But, yes, definitely a solid start.

Just finished listening to the audiobook of The Life Impossible by Matt Haig, with a fantastic performance by Joanna Lumley. I was so looking forward to this book, and it did not disappoint.

I have no confidence in the Republican Party. Americans voted for Trump despite his sex scandals, and the Senate will confirm all the nominees despite their sexual assault allegations. They’re no longer pretending character matters. The end justifies the means.

We have to ask. As a person of faith: The crusades were evil. God’s sovereignty is good. And the intent behind the tattoo matters to me. His character matters to me. I’m tired of seeing public figures use performative faith to excuse a multitude of personal and leadership sins.
