My point is that this piece doesn't accurately capture the current state of affairs, which must be done in order to make any real prescriptions. They discuss it as if it is a legal substance with under-reported negative health effects, but we're so far from that version of the world right now.

(Anecdotally, it makes my sleep much worse. I need a couple extra hours to feel the same as I do waking up without it. Taking an edible amplifies this feeling.) There seems to be an increased risk of heart disease in users, but the data doesn't capture dosage or method of ingestion, only frequency.

I agree with some of the points about regulating potency and taxing, or at the very least establishing clear labeling standards (including the way packaging is designed), but we're very far from that. They talk about regulating it like tobacco/alcohol, but those are not on the DEA schedule at all.

Incoherent. It's not legal; it's quasi-legal. According to the DEA's website, it still isn't even technically rescheduled. Since so many states have essentially overridden the federal government on this, they should obviously take action and get some intentional regulatory policy around it.
