I was very lucky growing up (in the 80s and 90s) in that my mother took us to see operas in London as well as ballets and musicals.

My lovely friend Neil is an amazing jeweller and just an awesome human being.

He's doing a marvellous giveaway for Valentine's Day .

My favourite are the D20 earrings😊

(Neil plays in our weekly Pathfinder (D&D) game and is a kickass monk who punches things mightily!)

What a great list of books. Some I know/own and some are new. This would have been very useful were I still teaching.

Please do not assume that you know what accommodations/reasonable adjustments a person needs without asking/checking/discussing.

I now feel patronised and as if my voice has been taken from me.

Based on the huge amount of evidence collected from Autistic people and those who support them, this is discouraging.

And from our perspective, it was disappointing that the only mention of parents is of parents of Autistic children. No recognition that Autistic people can be parents.

I had awful experiences with food when younger - learning from that!

You need to start your meal with fromage frais; you need the TV on so the focus is not on the food,? These are things we can do.

Started watching Marvel's Legion last night and am thoroughly enjoying it.

For a long time I could not watch anything that featured mental health at all. I used to have nightmares about being taken away by "men in white coats."

I suffered from anxiety about my mental health.

Yesterday we found juvenile female #kakapo Ongaonga on a nest on Pukenui/Anchor Island. At just under 4 years old (her hatch day is 12th Feb), she's the youngest female ever recorded nesting. Today we also found Matilda nesting - she's just 2 days older. #kakapo2026 #conservation #birds

I’m an Autistic classically trained chef and I wrote the food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide COLOR TASTE TEXTURE. It’s useful for all ages, no cooking experience required. My goal is to help kids avoid food related trauma and offer a balm of kindness for anyone who couldn’t escape it.

Had first texture related food refusal from youngest yesterday. So I carefully removed all the sweet pepper. He ate everything else. No drama. Glad he was finally able to articulate why.

Not long now until our Fruit Tree Pruning course and a few spaces remain.

Very much enjoying reading 'Understanding Others in a Neurodiverse World' by Dr Gemma Williams. Scholarly but written in an accessible and conversational style. Some good important arguments, underpinned by research, on autism and communication. 🙌🏻
