"Health care isnΒ΄t negotiable", says @shaheen.senate.gov as she gives it all away in exchange for certain humiliation just a few weeks later.

What will she say then?

The Health Care Crisis Origin Story A generation ago, Democrats helped the insurance industry shut down a rare opportunity - leading to this moment of chaos.

This moment’s health care emergency was created a generation ago. Ignoring this history now dooms us to repeat it in the future.

It appears that there has been a lot of sex trafficking w/ impunity by a lot of wealthy, powerful men. Is this part of the motivation of some to become wealthy & powerful? To abuse women & girls (& sometimes boys) at will?

-Oct 18, more than 7 million Americans stand up and stand together.

-Nov 4, millions of Dems turn out for landslide wins in VA, NJ, NY, CA, GA, many other places.

-Nov 9, eight "Dems" say "Oh, this nice Mike Johnson and Mr. Trump say they care about health. If they don't, well shame on them..."

These are some postcards my friend writes to various leaders around the country. She makes the postcards from cereal boxes, in the correct postcard dimensions and writes on the blank cardboard side. I like her idea so much I'm trying a few myself.

I Want You to Understand Chicago
Politics Chicago
2025-11-08

I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.

Every day my phone buzzes. It is a neighborhood group: four people were kidnapped at the corner drugstore. A friend a mile away sends a Slack message: she was at the scene when masked men assaulted and abducted two people on the street. A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again.

An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next.

Understand what it is to pray in Chicago. On September 19th, Reverend David Black, lead pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Chicago, was praying outside the ICE detention center in Broadview when a DHS agent shot him in the head with pepper balls. Pepper balls are never supposed to be fired at the head because they can seriously injure, or even kill. β€œWe could hear them laughing as they were shooting us from the roof,” Black recalled. He is not the only member of the clergy ICE has assaulted. Methodist pastor Hannah Kardon was violently arrested on October 17th, and Baptist pastor Michael Woolf was shot with pepper balls on November 1st.

Understand what it is to sleep in Chicago. On the night of September 30th, federal agents rappelled from a Black Hawk helicopter to execute a raid on an apartment building on the South Sho…

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

Senator Schumer has failed to lead this party in one of its most critical moments, and Americans will pay the price. It’s time for him to step down from leadership and make way for a new generation willing to fight for the people instead of the powerful.

πŸ‘‡πŸŽ― Unfortunately, this is true & probably the only way. Voters need to realize that hating government, & illegally defunding & dismantling it, & pretending that we can run a modern society/economy on Ronald Reagan's shabby talking point & worn copies of Atlas Shrugged & Mein Kampf is untenable.

"Appearing to close his eyes....".... "Seizing on the footage to raise questions...."

The hypocrisy of CNNΒ΄s sliding double standards, here - one for a successful Democratic president, another for a demented GOP puppet - is simply laughable, as is CNN itself.

Hire a white guy today! The Labor Department certainly can't be accused of being 'woke' in its new social media campaign

Trump administration's new hire-a-white-guy campaign. Free link

"You know what they say, 'If you want the job done right, you gotta find a white guy.' Or an orangish one, if he’s not too busy sharing state secrets with his caddy or viewing the daily highlight reel of ICE raids with Stephen Miller."

Lancaster PA has its very own Dominionist Day of Giving.

I’m not saying all of the participating orgs subscribe to Dominionist theology (many do) - but the event as a whole? Absolutely.

"I know some Spanish" That teacher couldn't stumble her way through the Taco Bell menu.

So she decided to speak down to this girl, bc of her own racist paranoia.

Indigenous residential schools might not exist anymore, but their horrible policies still exist throughout schools in America.
