In a dark-grey box, you see a summary written by T. W. Schwanitz: โFlies learning to like 'vomit fruit': an example of bitter going from 'yuck' to 'yum'. New research in Drosophila sechellia reveals how taste circuits can evolve to make bitter betterโ. Structural model is already available in the PDB (9MLC).
Mitosis has a timing system. If chromosomes attach properly, cells divide on schedule and keep proliferating. If attachment is slow or incomplete, the delay is recorded โ and daughter cells stop dividing.
