Which brings me to my final point. If you've ever been to Arlington. One of the most moving views of our nation's capitol is from the resting place of the Tomb of the Unknowns. Forever resting and forever guarded by members of the Old Guard.

Trump has no regard for our nation's history or those who lived it and gave what Lincoln called "the last full measure of devotion".

The history of Arlington from Washington's family connections, then the civil war/confederacy and establishment as a resting place for our nation's fallen servicemembers and many others. Including former President's and historical figures.

This proposed arch from Trump is a vanity project that would obstruct the historical geographical connection the Lincoln Memorial has to Arlington National Cemetery.

Came here to also point this out (deleted my other post because it was redundant). The historical connection of Washington's family, the confederacy, and founding of Arlington for the nation's fallen soldiers (and others).

What Governor Pritzker is doing is right for his state, but it is vital for the Republic.

If we are taking in “trillion” of dollars in tariffs:

1. Why haven’t we paid down a cent of the debt?

2. Why can’t we afford to not fuck millions of people over with expiring insurance subsidies?

3. Why is none of it being used to help the abysmal job market?

When the President of the United States essentially declares war on the state of Illinois and threatens to jail the Governor of the state and the mayor of Chicago- he is not a president but a tyrant.

Reminder that we still don’t know what happened to the 1,000 immigrants who went missing from Alligator Alcatraz.

Their families and attorneys can’t locate them.

They’ve been disappeared.

People are still being sent to that horrible place without any due process.

So the American taxpayer eats it twice, once on tariffs and again on a second farm bailout. I’m glad farmers are getting help, no one should lose their farm, but it’s remarkable how fast “socialism” stops being a dirty word when the checks clear in red counties.
