This has lost me thousands of pounds (not to mention book sales) and put me in a state of terror and panic. I urge anyone thinking of moving their list from Substack, or wanting to know more about how Substack works, to read it....

Careful Industries Have fewer, better meetings

If people in your team or organisation are using AI notetakers as a way of coping with too many meetings and a culture of presenteeism, there's not a technological fix for this. The answer is to have fewer, better organised meetings www.careful.industries/blog/2025-11...

I've recently wondered if the Geordie / NE England "Howay" or "haway" was an evolution of "ave" as there were a lot of Roman soldiers up there by the wall.
(Sometimes Latin pronounced V as W, so it's not that far fetched to me!)

THIS! And it benefits us all. The amount of people who hate paying towards things to help someone they see as "undeserving" but then complain about people living rough, crime, drug use, etc...
(To be clear, though, even if it didn't change any of that, it would still be the right thing to do.)

What can you expect from JITTERBUG?

A shattered solar system. A reluctant bounty hunter. A pirate queen. An unlikely attraction. All against the background of a political conspiracy to hide something vast and terrifying.

Preorder now from @titanbooks.bsky.social and all good booksellers.

In these days copyright and IP are necessary evils for writers (and generally just evils in the case of large corporations). Maybe we should go back to troubadours and bards.

They used to be but they pivoted to the freemium subscription model. And the cancellation clause refs some penalty involving a "firstborn", whatever that means.
