Presumably it relates to relative timing of state incentives.

Hard to see manufacturers dropping their standards because it will just block their ability to sell into other markets.

Reminds me of when EU made phone charging by USB-C compulsory, and this landed in the UK, post Brexit, because of supply chains.

Which speaks to my point about it being the implementation more than the concept

That's great for you, but not everybody can do that. As somebody who regularly travels between NW England and London, I really yearn for more reliable and affordable public transport, such as they have in France for example.

That's just badly run public transport as opposed to public transport per se. It is possible to do properly. Also, what form of transport that you use instead of trains, other than walking or cycling, is reliably predictable? Certainly driving isn't.

Bro needs to drink his copium, and we should down a glass with him, and turn a blind eye. There will be plenty more opportunities to laugh at his idiocy.

Dan Hannan is a ginormous moron. But he's right here, and starting from where he was, this means something. This position should be encouraged and supported. We need all the help we can get.

They scheduled it one hour late cos they don't understand time zones. I spent a fruitless 45 minutes on help line with the agent completely failing to understand.

When the stream finally started and I sent a photo of it lap 6/6 50 minutes in, the agent said, awesome that you are able to stream!

Or not live in the UK on Discovery+ because somebody doesn't understand timezones.

Matt Walsh tweeted last year: "We've spent the last 25 years bringing "freedom" and "democracy" to countries around the globe while our own country has been systematically invaded and now our largest cities are run by foreigners and communists. If you want to know why I'm so avowedly non-interventionist, this is why."

Then he tweeted today: ""This is a war for oil!!!!!"

First of all, the "war" lasted like 90 minutes. Second, going to war to secure vital resources for your own people is totally legitimate. Why should we allow some third world communist shithole to control trillions of dollars worth of oil?"

Laura Loomer tweeted last year: "I’m America First, I don’t support β€œRegime Change”. I went on @Bannons_WarRoom to talk about Chinese aggression in Venezuela and why we need to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign Islamic terrorist organization."

Then she tweeted yesterday: "Maduro has arrived at the DEA office in Manhattan. He was transported in an armored motorcade after being transported in a blindfold via helicopter & then by plane to New York after his compound in Caracas was raided by US Special Forces.

Proud to be an American today!

Will Chamberlain tweeted last year: "The Republican Party is no longer the party of regime change and endless wars

If you want to be its standard-bearer that is a non-negotiable position"

Then he tweeted yesterday: "I can think of few better uses of my tax dollars than black-bagging the head of a foreign narco-trafficking organization that enriches itself by addicting and poisoning my fellow Americans"

amazing how the entire machine can pivot within 24 hours. no need to slowly upsell the argument; just issue new marching orders

I was reading that in NHS workers the take up is only around 50% which is amazing. If the NHS can't persuade its own staff, then what is the world coming to.

I'd love to know the maths behind a decision not to offer it free to the entire population.

I just want to know what the cost benefit analysis is of this change. Why did we make it harder for over 50s to get vaccinated? Presumably because we costed it and thought it saved money. I find that surprising but I guess the professionals know what they are doing.

A few years ago, any over 50s could walk into a pharmacy and get a flu vaccine for free. This is no longer possible. I don't understand why flu vaccines are not administered more widely. What cost benefit analysis leads to today's crisis?
