At jury duty today. We just watched a ✨patriotic✨ video about how jury duty is a privilege in a democratic society and the guy goes, “in other countries the tyrants rule, the rulers rule, but not here.” And the WHOLE ROOM bursts into laughter.

Depends on how much change.

Last night, I rushed back to DC and went straight to the Rules Committee to testify on my two amendments, trying to block some of the worst impacts of this Big Ugly Bill.

Let me walk you through why it’s so bad and how I've been fighting to defeat it.

Not dead. Was a vote on the rule, not the bill. They will try to flip those four by figuring out what they want. Then try again to bring the bill to the floor.

If the bill is so great, why did they delay its actual start date?

Why do most cuts happen after the midterms? Why do other cuts start in 2028?

Why dont they do it now so they can get credit for how great everything is while they campaign for their seats next year?

We all know this doesn't "solve" the problem. But if nothing else, this shatters the assertion that all Democrats can do is to plead with Republicans since they are in the minority in Congress. It should be a reminder that we can, in fact, expect more from our elected leaders.

Another crucial lesson from this Harvard situation: There is no plan B. Trump's team had no idea what to do if Harvard said "no fuck you."

By first doubling down on the threats and then backing away and lying, they weakened their hand even more! Harvard woudl be wise to say no to the next threat.

Mr. Abrego Garcia was illegally abducted by the Trump Admin and, by their own admission, wrongly deported to El Salvador. He shouldn’t have to spend another second away from his family.

I'm flying to El Salvador tomorrow morning to check on his condition and discuss his return.
