MAGA men w/o passports are going to have to find those birth certificates too. It’s not just women w/paperwork issues. Difference is Dems are educating their voters.

And whole point of flippable toss-up districts is that they are almost 50/50. So they‘d have to pick out precincts in 50/50 district that they think have more Dems than GOP & hope that won’t backfire on them w/precincts 2 miles away that are opposite. High level logistics aren’t their strong suit.

I never knew this. In 1980s NC public school at least, there was a group (Junior Achievement I think?) that came in & taught us financial literacy during social studies. Now NC mandates financial literacy as grad requirement & apparently it has been very impactful. Thank you, Rev. Jackson.

Trump threats could make Americans care so much about voting that we say, ”Hell no, you won’t take away my vote b/c ppl died for this right & I will stay in line, I will protest, I will help my neighbors vote.“ And we have highest midterm turnout in years.

I wish every time someone asks “What if X happens” w/respect to election doom scenario they would answer w/what they, personally, will do if X happens. B/c if we can imagine worst case scenario but not how we will fight against that scenario, then the battle is half lost w/o GOP doing a damn thing.

Oh, but MAGA men will have to find their birth certificates too if they don’t have passports or enhanced REAL IDs (only available in 5 states, which are all blue). They haven't figured that part out yet b/c they think regular REAL ID is enough. Spoiler alert for them: it’s not.

I reject the whole premise of this thread because what it describes is...just literally democracy? The whole point is the "republic if you can keep it". There is no point where you can go on autopilot and the conceit that we can is exactly how we got the racist reality show host as a president.

I think it’s also important to note who appointed judges as counterpoint against admin’s claims that the only judges ruling against them are partisan, “rogue,” “liberal” judges. The admin is who is trying to make this issue partisan & assert power they & Congress don’t have over judiciary.

This is good. If GOP states are pushing back on this too, that’s a bad sign for admin.

I don’t know if anyone in these discussions is really a Newsom fan. He’s getting more attention than he deserves by ppl talking about whether they should/shouldn’t vote for him if he’s nominee instead of ppl talking about who they actually want to be nominee & how they’ll work to make that happen.
