To me a game where you play a predetermined character who navigates a fixed set of challenges feels more like an adventure/RPG hybrid. The dividing lines between genres are not clearly drawn but DE is pretty far from the CRPG centroid. Doesn't mean it can't be anyone's favorite RPG though
