This is Chicago's warning that as of Tuesday, 8/5, campaign signature collection season begins. This is required for candidates to get put on the ballot. Even incumbents. It runs until Thanksgiving.

NOTE: for almost every office, you can only sign ONE PETITION for your signature to count!

I.e. you can only sign one petition for one candidate for Cook County commissioner. Even if you think more than one deserved to be on the ballot.

And you have to live in the area the candidate is running in. That is, you can only sign petitions for someone who might be on your own upcoming ballot.
