No problem. I was being sarcastic in my original comment. Obviously galling what while the "leadership" behaves like royalty the rank and file can't get a pencil without filling out multiple forms.

I’m well aware from personal experience

Trump political appointees have no rules. I think all Feds should take a cue from their "leaders", and just do as they please. All those regs about having to get permission to take an hour off, use a Govt. vehicle, etc are obviously for suckers.

Liptak, from high atop his cozy sinecure at the Times, pushes out hack nonsense disguised as deep analysis.

Exactly. Herschel Walker is the only high IQ black person in the Trump worldview.

I mean, you'd do better just picking random people on the subway. Sheesh.

I look forward to 50 million personal bankruptcies a year.

I apparently (quite possibly) jumped the gun! I would guess it all depends on how it's applied. Knowing RFK the lesser wants to ban SSRIs I was automatically suspicious.

Ah, look forward to it!

Read the article, not the decision. Will do now.

The rule is obviously designed to enable VA to deny benefits. Imagine the evaluations "oh you feel a little better on Lexapro? Benefits denied". But maybe the person is no longer suicidal, but still not functional. It allows for great mischief in the process. Experience with insurance tells us this.

One problem is that antidepressants can work a little, a lot, or not at all. So just because you are taking them doesn't mean you are not struggling or even "disabled".

I didn't say I was a stoic. And I wasn't mansplaining or even explaining stoicism. Just suggesting you might find Epictetus interesting - or not. Anyway, enough. We're on the same side 98% of the time, I'd wager.

Not sure what species I am in your taxonomy, but I was suggesting that before criticizing stoicism - as you evidently view it - reading some Epictetus (if you haven't already), may cast a different light on it for you. Apologies for wording it in a way that could be taken as an order.

15.02.2026 17:14 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Agree with the sentiment but many peoples conception of stoicism today is not what stoicism actually was or is. Read some Epictetus.

Excellent spot Governor. As an Mainer, and ex-creative director at a big (and good) ad agency, this one hits home and makes the most important point about Collins: she's weak and fraudulent.

I loved this. A Stetson Law product trying to throw shade at a guy who graduated Magna Cum Laude from HLS where he was an editor of Law Review. I think corrosive envy drives a lot of the Trumpist nastiness.

First suggestion for getting sports fans off Twitter and on Bluesky - stop the smug, inane and tacitly insulting habit of calling it "sports ball".
