When I read the news these days, it feels as if I’m looking up at clouds trying to find the sun on a gloomy day. Then I remember if I don’t try to find a way through them, I might as well go inside and close the blinds. I’m not willing to do that.

PS. I see you’re also a historian. Got my PhD in modern Russian history from Stanford but ended up alt-ac. Grew up right-wing evangelical and rejected that, hence my interest in authoritarian Christianity

I followed Chrissy on the other place beginning in 2016. Many of us had been evangelicals or raised as such. The tag was
Exvangelical, and Chrissy was instrumental in contributing academic and well thought out discussion. If it’s a subject of interest to you, I highly recommend her voice.
