I found probably a dozen cat’s like that this summer so I’m guessing the wasp population is gonna be strong next year.

Nope. I pulled those on Nov 6 while they were still green and before the first frost. They ripened inside.

A snowy owl on a water structure making it look like a toilet.

Chicago is about 500 miles north of me, however, in january of 2022, one did venture down this way. This was the best pic I could get of it since the landowner wasn't allowing any 'trespassers' as she said. The thing it's sitting on is a water structure that passes thru the levee behind it.
