It's actually quite a surprise that imperialist violence of this sort is getting pushback at all, bipartisan no less, and this is happening only because the details of a specific incident have become public.

My guess is that they appreciate his calling a genocide of Palestinians a genocide of Palestinians and calling to cut to off arms shjpments to Israel, as opposed Janet Mills's continued embrace of Israel, support for genocide etc.

Not sure, but having spoken to friends in Maine, where I grew up, I'm not surprised by this at all. The reaction on the ground to his tattoo etc bore no resemblance to the reaction on this app.

Larry Summers has been doing damage to the world (and to the Democratic Party) since the first Clinton administration.
Maybe most notably, he led a successful campaign to oppose regulation of derivatives, which led to the 2008 crash. Let's hope his friendship w Epstein finally saps his influence.

Some things this national pundit (who summers in Blue Hill) misses:

Golden was most hurt by inaccessibility and arrogance, not his positions.

Matt Dunlap is not in a "statewide elected position." The ME SoS is chosen by the state leg. And he's a strong candidate for the district.

The political argument for Platner was always that you can only beat Collins with a different kind of candidate.

But Mills will almost definitely lose as well. I grew up in Maine, and most people I know there feel the same. I'll need non-partisan polls (of both Platner/Mills v Collins) before I conclude definitively that Platner would have a worse shot than Mills. He probably does tbh but we'll see....
